His channel is the 29th most subscribed channel on the list of Top Most Subscribed YouTube Channel list. Fong with his 17 million dollars from YouTube earnings is the seventh Highest Paid YouTube Star in the world.
Born back in March of 1992, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Evan Fong has mix ethnicity, as his father is Chinese while his mother is Korean. He is a graduate of the Richmond Hill High School. He was introduced to video games at a young age because of his father being an avid video game player. Evan Fong himself, started with playing children adventure and puzzle games. After completing high school, he was enrolled in a college for Economics major. To focus full time on his YouTube channel, Evan dropped out of the college during his second year. His parents, like any other were highly concerned and furious over his rash decision. However, he was able to convince them that the Video Gamer career of his was a viable one in the end.
He created the YouTube channel VanossGaming back on September 15th, 2011. The name Vanoss he used came from the variable valve timing system used and made by BMW. Fong’s father also used the name Vanoss62 or his Play Station 3 console’s username. Later Fong made this name as his own identity.
Back in early 2015, Fong started to get big on the mainstream media after his channel broke the 11 million subscribers mark and his channel was listed among the Top 25 most subscribed YouTube channels in the world. At the same time, Fong was also regarded as one of the main figures in the growing video game commentary subculture. Fong made his first attendance at a gaming panel at a convention back in March of 2015. The name of the gaming panel was “YouTube Gaming Evolution” at the Boston’s PAX East event.
In his successful YouTube career, Fong has worked with many renowned YouTubers like I Am Wildcat, Adam “SeaNanners” Montoya, Tom “Syndicate” Cassell, and many others.
When Evan Fong is not busy playing video games and making content for his YouTube channel, he likes to play ice hockey and also dabble on guitar.
